Wednesday 25 October - Evening
Societal needs for the just and equitable provision of actionable climate information have never been greater. EVE outlines new opportunities to leverage advances in computational sciences (including artificial intelligence) to enable a new quality of climate information and engage the public and private sectors in its creation and distribution. EVE would create new institutions to transition the data/compute infrastructure supporting climate services from an ad-hoc research based system into an international and operational activity, enabling a new quality of data and opening the door to a more just and inclusive approach. This Townhall will discuss different perspectives on EVE, including scientific and societal challenges such an initiative would imply.
