Tuesday 24 October - Lunchtime
Rwanda’s landscape of research actors that work on climate change related matters is diverse, spanning from public and private higher learning institutions to NGO-led action research. There is a substantial body of scientific knowledge on climate change in Rwanda and research has intensified in recent years through numerous studies, the establishment of Centres of Excellences and international scientific cooperation. For reasons of efficiency and effectiveness, the implementation of its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) climate action measures should in any case consider the best available research knowledge.
The side event will explore the climate change science and research landscape and will foster the connection between the scientific research community and policy makers, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), development partners and private sector.
