An evening networking event to be held early in the conference for scientific climate data providers and users from across public, industry, third sector and scientific communities. This will provide an opportunity for users of climate data to meet providers of climate data, in a relaxed setting.
Data users will be able to select a sticker/multiple on arrival to represent their desired data usage capability level from informed decision making through to scientific analyses. There will be an initial pitch session by data providers showcasing WCRP tools and datasets to provide an initial icebreaker.
Providers of scientific climate data and tools will be stationed around the room so that they are available to answer questions, discuss needs and help refer users to further activities in the conference programme, from technical to capacity building sessions. This will enable users to then identify particular sessions/activities they wish to attend geared at the capability level they require and provide the opportunity for initial interactions for all that can then be evolved over the course of the conference
