With the expected industrial, urban and agricultural development in Africa, the chemical composition of the atmosphere is expected to change in the decades ahead with consequences on human health, ecosystem productivity and climate. The purpose of the workshop is to review progress on these issues and develop a strategic vision for future research on the continent. A goal is to reinforce current networks and improve coordination within the international community.
